Insha'Allah... Insha'Allah translates as 'In God's hands', or 'if it is God's will', or 'God willing'. ![]() Insha'Allah is an expression found in Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Urdu and Bengali, and the 14 nations that make up the Arabic speaking 'home countries' - the Al-waton al-Araby. These are: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran and Iraq. Insha'Allah is an expression of hope; if someone wants to achieve something - especially something that requires much effort and hardship - it is deemed good sense to call upon God's blessing beforehand. In Jewish tradition the phrases, B'ezrat Hashem ('with the help of God'), and Im Yirtze Hashem ('If God wishes') have the same meaning. Spanish ojalá and the Portuguese oxalá (both meaning, 'I hope…') are derivations of 'the will of Allah.'
